Our BASE CAMP founder Steven fell down while testing our new electric skateboard on the most familiar road on the night of February 18th and unfortunately broke the bone of his left elbow joint. Steven is a passionate, crazy guy. The skateboards were born from a spirit of adventure. He often tests the new electric skateboard on the neighborhood trails. This road is very familiar to him, But accidents always happen when you don't expect them.
The cause of the accident was hitting a group of mini and low-profiled speed bumps (6 groups in total). At 3 o'clock in the morning seemed so quiet and calm that day. However, all this peace was broken in an accident. Steven speeds up the sailing speed to 25 miles per hour on the familiar road, at high speed than usual because, after 6.5 hours, he has an important meeting to attend. At this hour, Steven is a little tired. After thinking, he can sleep less than 6 hours. He was a bit distracted and didn't notice this speed bump that was usually ignored. After a while of the bumpy ride, Steven lost his balance and fell heavily. That brief 3-second is still fresh in his mind, but luckily he has a backpack on his back to protect the back of Steven's head from hitting the ground after he rolled, and from becoming my ex-boss.
With the great care of our BASE CAMP team members, Steven was able to go to work after a month. The first thing first, when he came to his office was to tell us the improvement plan for the new skateboard, as well as warn us of the importance of safe riding. What a crazy boss. The daily screams of unbearable pain coming from his office are a constant reminder to us of the importance of safe riding.
Many electric skateboard accidents happen because riders don't know what they're doing. They either go too fast, lose control, ride in the wrong place, or encounter unexpected conditions.
Be a "defensive" skater
It pays to be more cautious than normal when skating. On the one hand, you are more likely to get hurt outdoors than indoors. On the other hand, you never know what can happen on the road.

Learn how to fall properly
Yes, there is a right way to eat shit, and, quite frankly, we should all know how to do it. Because the difference between a good fall and a bad fall can be HUGE. For example, being thrown from your electric skateboard and putting your hands out (naturally) to catch your fall is a good way to cause a broken wrist or arm.On the other hand, Leading with your shoulder, and rolling into the side is a good way to walk away unscathed.
